Learning Success Program

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Learning Success Program

Background:

I got the Learning Success Program as a promotional item and was a little skeptical. My 11 year old is a little slow when it comes to learning and was diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities a few years ago. I have spend many hours with her doing homework and trying to pre-teach her as much as I can but it was time consuming. Anyway, after coming home from a full day of school it is not fun to spend time learning and so as she got older I had to cut back.

When I was contacted to do the Learning Success Program I thought why not give it a try. I have to say, I was amazed by the results.

Program:

After signing up for the Learning Success Program, I had to purchase some basic items. They can all be found locally like an eye patch, dry erase marker and sheet protector.

After I signed up for the program I was ready to get started. Liz Weaver, will send me daily e-mail with that days practice sheets and yes, they are all short and easy to do. In addition to sending an e-mail with the days lesson, there is a small explanation as to why your child will be doing this assignment. For example, one day was an essay called Crazy 8. The email opened up, I read that my girl was doing this so she can develop her fine motor skills. (These have really sped up her writing time in school:)

After I get through the e-mail and read why I am doing it to help my girl, I print it out and got started. The first page of the assignment sums up the e-mail with instructions on how to go about the project. They are usually straight forward and to the point. I spend between 10-15 minutes a day with my girl.

One day it was tracing, while the other day it was finishing up a simple shape. Some days even got fun and creative by having my girl trace Chinese letters to help her with tracking.

Pros:

  • Very simple program to follow
  • Only a few minutes per day so child will not loose interest
  • Works on multiple skills like fine motor and eye coordination
  • Great for all age levels
  • Frustration free bonding time to help your struggling child
  • Amazing results

Cons:

  • It would have been nice for the site to offer an extra packet for all the additional times. For example I got the eye patch at a drug sore and the rest at a staples. I would have payed extra for Learning Success Program to send it to me.
  • Slightly on the costly side but well worth the investment.

Suggestions:

  • Stay organized. I find it very helpful for my girl if I am organized. I try to pre-print all of the assignments ahead of time and store it in a binder. When we are ready to work, I set her by a clear table with no distractions and we get going. It is easier for her to work with no distractions.
  • Celebrate the little things. I trie to celebrate the small steps with her. For example the other day she got a few points higher on her spelling test. I hugged her and congratulated her. I know it is a result of this program and her ability to concentrate better. For her, she was thrilled to see her test scores go up. Also at the end of each work sheet, I usually give her a high-five and tell her how proud I am of her sticking with the program. The smile on her face and enthusiasm gets her motivated for the following day.

Results:

I have been receiving e-mails for this product for only a month now but I can say the results are there. My 11 year old is needing less help and is able to do more of her homework on her own. Her reading speed has increased and she is overall happy with her success. I like that this program works slow and celebrates the small successes in life. I will be doing it every day for the remainder of the year. If my child is happy doing this and getting the results, then I am happy.

We celebrate the small steps in life. If you child is having difficult and you are looking for a program that is not time consuming and will give your child the best results, click on any of the Learning Success Program links above.
